Topeka, KS is the capital of the state's ice cream, and we've narrowed it down to three fabulous places to enjoy a frozen treat. Keep reading to discover our picks and treat your taste buds. more G's Frozen Custard & Yogurt G's Frozen Custard & Yogurt has been a fan-favorite of Topeka locals since they first opened their doors serving indulgent frozen custard in 1991. You can enjoy their basic flavors including vanilla, chocolate, chocolate chocolate chip, lemon, and brown bread any time of the year. Be sure to stop by and try their current specialty flavors such as the Fantasy Snickers with peanut butter, the Cookie Monster with Oreos, and the Ruby Red with buttercream frosting. Go with a cup of frozen yogurt for a sugar-free option, or treat yourself an Old Fashioned Shake with raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, butter pecan, cherry, coconut, butterscotch, or peach pineapple. We also enjoy customizing our own custard with toppings such as crushed nuts, sprinkles, and cookie dough. For an extra-special dessert, ask for the Maui Waui with pineapple and coconut or the StrawAnn with strawberries, bananas, and salted pecans. Sheridan's Frozen Custard Sheridan's Frozen Custard serves unique custard treats with more cream, less air, and a silkier taste than their competitors that leave diners across Kansas raving. Sundaes are a Sheridan's classic, and we recommend the Royal Turtle with roasted pecans, the Mango Dango with cherries, and the seasonal Strawberry Shortcake topped with whipped cream. Alternatively, create your own with pretzels, caramel, blackberries, shredded coconut, and more. You can't go wrong with a concrete at Sheridan's, and our favorites include Grant's Grasshopper with chocolate and mint as well as the Wedding Cake with an entire slice of cake blended in. Seasonal flavors rotate, so be sure to try the Mexican Chocolate with cinnamon and the Key Lime Pie with graham crackers while they're available. Be sure to order one of Sheridan's frozen custard pies made from your favorite flavor for your next party or event! Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt is our top pick for frozen yogurt lovers thanks to their extensive menu and wide range of flavors. If you prefer fruit-based yogurt, try white chocolate strawberry, raspberry lemonade, lemon bar, blueberry lemonade, or mango strawberry banana. If you're a fan of richer flavors, treat yourself to sea salt pistachio, pumpkin spice latte, chocolate cheesecake, toasted marshmallow, or banana pudding. No need to worry if you're avoiding dairy; pink lemonade, sour blackberry, and Jolly Ranchers green apple are all completely free of dairy products. If you're on a diet, you can safely order the no sugar added chocolate toffee. We also highly recommend the Orange Leaf smoothies such as the Berry Tropical with pineapple and raspberries, the Protein Powder with banana and peanut butter, and the Orange N' Cream with mandarin oranges. A delicious frosty treat (or two!) awaits you at any of the restaurants, and we can hardly decide what to order first.
